On November 5th Safeway inc. was at $22.37, it raised to its peak at $23.50 on November 16th and on December went down to $22.10 (lowest of the month). Comparing NASDAQ and Safeway is a sad thing to do, Safeway was looking at a mirror image of NASDAQ, but on the negative scale. Whole Foods was also still above Safeway and just by a bit of luck Kroger foods was at the same rate and even a bit lower.

Invest or not invest?

Personally i would not invest in this company.

Why? Well as you can see from the link above Safeway has had its minor peaks but not as much as you would expect. Even compared to other companies such as Whole Foods it still is biting the dust.

"Safeway earlier this year announced lower prices on basics like milk. Denver Division President Scott Grimmett says the new cuts are for the long term. Customers with Safeway Club Cards would get further discounts.Grimmett says the move should help drive traffic to stores."
